classics

What do a little black dress, sliced bread, the Beatles, aviator sunglasses, and a Shelby Mustang have in common? They are all classics. There are classic foods, classic music, classic cars, classic wardrobe peices, classic novels and of course, classic movies. According to the Oxford dictionary, a classic can be defined as something “having enduring worth” — while that can be somewhat subjective, there are certain films that stand out in most people’s mind as being deserving of such an honour. These famous films influenced a generation (and continue to do so even today) and they paved the way for future silver screen greats.

Although we can’t possibly list all of the classic flicks available for borrowing at GPL, check out a good smattering of what we have to offer (if we missed one of your favs, let us know!):
